Woodland Hut

Outside front.jpg

A wild but peaceful, natural haven, our Woodland Hut stands on its own amidst bluebells in Spring and fungi in Summer and Autumn, in private woodland which is itself populated by red deer, red foxes, treecreepers and woodpeckers.

If you want to wake up to the sound of birdsong and go to sleep to the hooting of the tawny owl, a stay in our Woodland Hut is for you!

The accommodation for two is comfortable, cosy and furnished to a high standard. There is a small kitchen with a fridge, an electric induction hob and air fryer as well as hot and cold running water, direct from our own spring. You have access to a flushing toilet and a hot shower in the Tractor Shed, some 75 metres away. Outside the Hut, on a grassy area bordering the stream, there is a fire pit, a picnic table and a hammock.

Nutsford House is on the edge of Exmoor National Park which has excellent opportunities for walking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, stargazing, horse riding and wildlife spotting. There are also good walks directly from the house and guests are free to explore the 10 acre grounds too. You may even meet our excitable, young Golden Retriever, Louis! Guests are not allowed to bring dogs but if you are missing your own pooch, Louis may bring you some solace!

Three miles away is Dulverton where you’ll find cafes, pubs, independent shops and the National Park centre. We’re also close to various National Trust properties, and the North coast is accessible as a day trip.

So, whether you want a totally relaxing stay or something a little bit more active, we know you’ll enjoy switching off and soaking up the peace and quiet at Nutsford House.

A wonderful B&B in beautiful surroundings

We were lucky enough to be the first ever guests at Nutsford House! We could not have hoped for a more pleasant experience; the hosts were as friendly as can be, the house is absolutely lovely and set in wonderful surroundings. On arrival, we were greeted with tea and scones and got to meet the new puppy and one of the cats :-) When we returned to the house in the evening, the only sounds were the nearby river and the hooting of an owl. And in the morning we had an absolutely lovely breakfast. Can't recommend the place highly enough!
